How sexy is that? After more than 10 years, Cologne’s legenday Formation Doppelherz 2000 decide to release their greatest successes under a creative commons licence. We admit though we’ve been working on this since we started our small netlabel – and organised gig after gig with these “last heroes of love”, the latest at Cologne Commons 2013. These guys are nowhere better than at one of their live shows. [more]

A huge guy with heavy glasses and a drop tuned electric guitar, a woman 10 feet tall, computer beats and synth basses. Post industrial beats, stoner bass loops, metal riffs and german lyrics. Guitars cannot be to loud, drum patterns never to stoical, bass licks never to dark, lyrics never to sealed. [more]

What’s that? Kind of a neo post rock band? Certainly not. It’s Marco Trovatello, all by himself. He lined up the band in an almost classic way with Drums, various bass guitars, guitars and synthesizers. Plus, he also invited himself as a guest musician on Glockenspiel, Violin and various small toy instruments. [more]

The music of Erich Schall is devoted to the straight bass drum, but without a complete submission to it. Elated she takes us by the hand and gently guides us into the awakening spring, our mating season. It works great – on the dance floor – without being there purely to create this function.

This releases is not one sound, declined over eight tracks, it is eight track with more than just one main idea developed musically. Clicking sound and flashing will be fixed with horns and guitars, in echo chambers and sent pleasantly obscured, perhaps even slightly “intoxicated.” Major and minor keys are on equal footing. (For non-musicians: The white and black keys on the piano, or as quoted by M. Jackson and P. McCartney, “Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony”).

Erich Schall is not distracted by fashionable style derivatives, but rather absorbs everything around him into his sound universe, sorts it into his toolkit, and only takes it out again, whein it is really needed in one of his tracks. We’re happy as Bolle used to be (sorry, pure translation from german), that Erich has found our kleiner grüner Würfel. And we hope that he continues to observe all the “in” and “outs” of the techno genre, stays calm and relaxed, just to tinker his next sonic bombs. (A note for the men in black: “sonic bombs” is meant here as a metaphor for really good tracks. Just to get this straight.)

Das Blaue Monster and the power of elasticity. Like caoutchouc this shady machinemusic gets pressed through the hollow alleys that FC Stoffel with his arcane knwoledge has drilled into the mountains. An industrial carpet on the floor. Seemingly absorbed in thought Doris Mücke takes a stroll on it with her lyrics in high heels, unevitably ignoring the structure of the carpet.

Schmitz & Niebuhr are interested in ambitious, large pop music as well as in minimal music, soundtracks, lo-fi sounddesign and cheesy 80ies presets. The production of their album ‘Orgelqualität’ took almost two years – in almost evolutionary process they recorded the musical pieces by constantly recording, remixing, deleting and re-recording basic audio tracks as well as sample fragments. This is the firts release from Das Blaue Monster on our netlabel. Six analog summed Tracks, that are not only marked by their “jaking” rhythms, but also by a lyric meta level. Supported by gnarly, striking basslines and clear stresses, these tracks are overlayed by a lyrical haze over and over again, seemingly coming out of some kind of twilight zone. [more]
